Dang & Watt

November 16, 2009
Dear Friends & Family of Campus Outreach Khon Kaen,
I am writing to say thank you for your faithfulness in supporting the Kritsanakamchai family over these many years as they have faithfully labored for Christ on the Campus Outreach Khon Kaen team. I am also writing to inform you that Dang has decided that, for the good of his family, it is best for them to leave full-time Christian work for at least the next several years. As of December 15th, Dang will no longer be on staff with COKK and therefore will not be in need of your financial support.
About a year ago, it became clear that Dang and Watt were struggling as a couple. After fifteen days of prayer and fasting, Dang and I agreed that it would be in the best interest of Dang & Watt as a couple & for their entire family for them to move to Chiang Mai, Thailand for at least one year. The purpose of this would be for Dang &and Watt to receive professional counseling and for their children to be in an excellent school environment, neither of which was possible in Khon Kaen. (There aren't any professional counselors here and their children weren't in the best school situation here either.) Therefore, we agreed this would be the best possible course of action. So, for the past year Dang & Watt have been:
- 1. Meeting separately with professional counselors at Cornerstone Counseling Center.
- 2. Meeting together as a couple for professional help.
- 3. Studying a few classes at a local seminary.
- 4. Preparing for the next season of their lives together.
After Dang and I met this past August, it became clear that it was God's will for their family to remain in Chiang Mai and continue in these things. We also agreed that it would be best to not be a full-time Christian worker for at least the next several years. Dang has been praying about what God is calling him to do in this next season of his life. Please be in prayer for them as well during this time.
As the Director of COKK, I am aware that you have not received ANY communication from Dang during this last year & for this, I apologize. Dang had asked to be the one to communicate with you during this year and I had agreed to this with him. Since that has not been the case, I feel compelled to make sure that you are informed of the current situation so that you may pray for Dang and Waat and may direct your support elsewhere in the future. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have in this matter via email at: bfirpo@campusoutreach.org or on my VOIP phone which I answer in Khon Kaen but has a Birmingham, Alabama area code: 205-776-5553. (We are 12 hrs ahead of E.S.T.)
Again, thank you for being on Dang & Watt's financial support team all these years!
Love, Brian Firpo; Campus Outreach Khon Kaen, Director
